Bridging Freedom

bridging freedom

dance film

Bridging Freedom is a collaboration between an Ecuadorian dancer living in Spain and a dancer in Australia. The artists exchanged videos of themselves dancing inviting a physical dialogue and performed a response to each other’s movement.

The resulting film is two interwoven solos that reflect the realities of creating during Covid-19 pandemic: artists prevailing within a world of disruption, uncertainty and limited available resources.

They explore connection during separation and isolation and our global interconnectivity and shared fragility. The dancers search for freedom by listening to their bodies - finding a haven from within. Its imperfections convey deep humanity.
